Chandra Taal

I had the opportunity to go trekking places in Himachal Pradesh recently. It was a long trek and my destination included trekking around Chandra Taal and its surrounding regions, the Chanderkhani Pass and the Hampta Pass. We had our backpacks ready with the essential things into it and made our way to our destination which was Chandra Taal about 14,100 feet in the Himalayas. The trekking places in Himachal are amazing in its rich scenic splendor. We also trekked into the arid lands of Spiti valley.

The Lake had a circumference of about 2.8 kilometers and it was bean shaped in structure. The water was clear and fresh in the morning but as the day progressed the water took on beautiful shades of blue. The long sprawling meadow that stretched on both sides of the lake was an ideal ground for camping. We had chosen the time between May to early October which is just the right time for going on trekking to places in Himachal Pradesh. That time the lake was accessible and it could be reached on foot from Batal to the Kunzum pass. The source of this lake was not quite visible and the water seemed to come from underground. Camping experience and trekking to the place Chandra Taal was an out of the world experience for our group of trekkers.

Chanderkhani Paas

We were on our way trekking places in Himachal Pradesh and we had planned our trek in Parvati valley that is linked to Kulu and Malana valley through the Chanderkhani Pass. This pass region basks in ethereal beauty and this is a decent base for trekking places in Himachal regions. The place, we learnt is 3600 meters above sea level and offers magnificent sights on the trail.

It offers the sights of Parvati mountain ranges, the Pir Panjal and the Deo Tibba peaks too. We found the weather to be at its best as we had planned our trip before October. The sight of the Pir Panjal peak in the north and the Shiwalik in the South were added attractions to our trekking places in Himachal Pradesh.

The Hampta Passs

Another of these wizardly trekking places in Himachal is the Hampta Pass which is noted for its breath taking sceneries. We loved these trekking places in Himachal for mighty trees of oak, pine and rhododendron on our way as we trekked the Hampta Pass to the Lahaul Spiti valley. The natural beauty of these trekking places in Himachal Pradesh was so various that they seemed to change every day. And each new day of trekking to places in Himachal Pradesh you are gifted with a brand new trekking experience!
